Essays prepared by the participants are scrutinized for comprehension, organization, development of ideas, clarity, consistency, cohesiveness, transitions between sentences and paragraphs, reasoning and critical thinking. The OIFF™ Arts and Film Boot Camp recognizes that proper essay writing forms a sound foundation for the higher levels of composition in the film industry including screenplays and scriptwriting; therefore, composition skills are included in the core curriculum of the Boot Camp.

'I was extremely honored to be a part of the Learn-N-Earn youth program on Saturday Jan. 4th, 2020 in my Pine Hills community. My 3 children and I were met with warmth and love as soon as we walked through the door by Mrs. Renee and her staff. The program is an excellent motivator for the youth in our community to learn how to prepare for their future and also to master necessary skills in what field they like to embark upon. The hands-on approach is a good way to stimulate their interest in the various activities as well. Plus, the bonus of the kids earning $5.00 dollars at the end of the sessions is a way for kids to save and learn the value of money.

The Learn-N-Earn program my children attended consisted of them learning about Etiquette, theatre, videography and the different elements it takes to shoot a film, along with participating in games that concentrate on focus, listening skills, and cooperation amongst their peers. Seeing these crucial skills being fine-tuned within the program is going to be an asset for the future. My kids are excited to be a part of something that stimulates their interest in a profession they learn the in- and-outs of activities and have fun while doing it. I am happy to be a part of this journey with them. I look forward to the many other things they will be learning in the upcoming weekends.'
